One of the world’s largest battery component manufacturers had experienced vibration problems within their Dongguan based manufacturing facility. The manufacturing of the components in question demanded high precision requirements and, therefore, the vibrations had a negative influence on the quality of work and the overall production efficiency. In addition, the vibrations caused discomfort for the staff, as the vibrations generated movement, even on the surface of tea cups.

Geobear Solution

After an extensive site investigation, Geobear proposed a ground improvement solution where the bearing capacity of the soil beneath would be significantly increased in order to reduce or even eliminate the vibration problem. 1135 m2 of the factory floor area was treated up to 2.1 m in depth. Special attention was given to the areas under the legs of pressing machines by adding additional enforcement.

RESULT

The Geobear crew improved the soil beneath in 16 days by agreeing upon flexible schedules with the customer, in order to minimize any potential disturbance to the customer’s everyday manufacturing operations. As a result, vibrations were significantly reduced even in some of the most challenging areas. Geobear was complimented as being the most professional subcontractor that the customer had had for years.
