On September 14th, the 2023 China (Sichuan) - Finland Economic and Trade Exchange Conference, jointly organized by the Sichuan Provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the Finnish National Agency for Commerce, was held in Chengdu. Deputy Director-General of the Sichuan Provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Lei Xuejie, and Commercial Counsellor Tian Makko from the Finnish Embassy in China attended the meeting and delivered speeches. Geobear was invited by the Finnish Ministry of Commerce to visit Sichuan and gathered with 40 companies from Sichuan, covering areas such as digitization, smart manufacturing, and healthcare, to discuss cooperation. This marks the first visit to Sichuan by a Finnish economic and trade delegation this year.

Lei Xuejie, emphasized that Finland is an important partner for Sichuan in Northern Europe. In recent years, Sichuan and Finland have made positive progress in their friendly relations and the development of sister city relationships and economic and trade cooperation. In the first half of this year, the total trade volume between the two sides was 84.89 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.7%. He expressed the hope that this exchange meeting would further strengthen communication and exploration of cooperation potential between companies from both regions. The Sichuan Provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade will continue to work with the Finnish Embassy in China to facilitate communication and provide services for companies from both sides, promoting the development of Sino-Finnish economic and trade relations.

Tian Makko, Commercial Counsellor at the Finnish Embassy in China, expressed gratitude for the strong support from the Sichuan Provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade. He stated that Finland is an ancient partner of Sichuan, and several Finnish companies have already invested and established their presence in Sichuan. Finland has technological innovation advantages in areas such as green energy, circular economy, and healthcare, holding a leading position globally. The year 2023 marks the 70th anniversary of the signing of the China-Finland governmental trade agreement, and he hopes to further deepen economic and trade cooperation with Sichuan and facilitate more Finnish companies' entry into the Sichuan market.

During the business negotiation session, Geobear, an leading company in the global ground stabilization and subsidence restoration industry, held discussions with various Sichuan enterprises, including Yibin Wuliangye, Sichuan Shuijingfang, Sichuan Port and Shipping Investment Group, Skyworth Group Mining Corporation, and Sichuan International Chamber of Commerce Lantern Committee. They discussed Geobear's distribution and prospects in the Chinese market, as well as successful applications of Geobear's unique geopolymer injection technology. Detailed analyses of the geological conditions of Sichuan Province and surrounding areas were provided, along with an elucidation of collaboration directions.
