Project Background

In October 2020, Geobear team visited an automobile exhibition hall in Xiamen to have a survey and formulate the land settlement solutions. According to the client’s description and on-site measurements, this 100 square-meter exhibition hall had experienced multiple ground subsidence which is especially serious in the 20 square-meter entrance area. The subsidence had reached about 10 cm, and the tiles have been scattered which not only affected the appearance of the exhibition hall but even brought potential safety hazards for daily use. The main reason for subsidence was the soft soil under the building, which was not compacted when the building was constructed. In the process of daily operation, local subsidence occurred.

Traditional Solution

The traditional cement grouting reparation needed to break the surface ground of a large area and then poured cement in. The entrance area of serious subsidence must be blocked for a long time, which will inevitably affect the normal use of the exhibition hall. The client’s main requirement is that the reparation process must be efficient and can not affect the normal operation and this requires the traditional cement grouting reparation
obviously can’t meet.

Geobear Solution and Outcome

1. “Non-interference ” technology. Geobear’s unique repair technology doesn’t need to break the ground, only needs to drill a 12mm hole in the ground and inject geo-polymer into the ground, the geo-polymer expands rapidly to achieve ground uplifted.
